Next month I’m starting new jewellery making workshops and courses with Falmouth Adult Education!
If you’re looking for something new to learn in a fun environment, these courses might just be for you! Jewellery making is great fun and is very rewarding! I will be teaching many techniques in mixed media, polymer clay, pearl stringing, wire-wrapping to name a few!
My first workshop is Saturday 14th October 10am – 3.3opm, called Paper Jewellery. Not s0mething you would naturally think can be used for jewellery – but when used special varnishes it can me a durable and lasting item of jewellery! We’ll explore three different ways to use paper in jewellery – from Decopage techniques with clear acrylic tags and wonderful hand printed Japapense paper called Chyogami; experiment with a product called Stone Paper to make a cuff bracelet decorated with stamp and inks, plus have a go at making your own rolled paper beads with colourful paper and even magazine paper!
Also next month on the following Saturday 21st October, is my introduction to Polymer Clay jewellery! We’ll learn the best way to condition the clay, how to blend two colours as well as using stamps for texture and make beads, pendants and other items of jewellery, in this fun workshop. There’s also a follow up 5 week course starting in November which will expand on the techniques and help you learn in a fun environment making jewellery with this colourful product – you’re only limited by your imagination!
